Yesterday Joe, Amber, Bob & myself drove to L'Anse to look at our new hunting property lease. It is only about a mile or 2 from the former lease but is lower in altitude and was logged last winter so will hold more deer. The Slate River runs thru the property and this is just one shot from a high bluff. I am sure Joe has more. Very promising looking piece of hunting property and the best thing is there is no thru traffic on this dead end road.

That's sweet. Growing up in MT I've never known anyone to to lease land to hunt. Ryan grew up on a farm with lots of land and my Dad had a bunch of friends who had land.
Now that we live here we have seen just how difficult it is to find land to hunt on. That looks like an awesome piece of property though. I'd be interested to know exactly what a hunting lease entails? Does that mean only hunting for certain dates or can you go anytime you want? Just curious.
Looks like you guys have a great year ahead though!

Im in love with it already. Driving by that river last time I thought it looked like it would hold some brookies. Any sort of falls on the land ? Itty bitty ones count too. Does it look like it has good potential for a camp? Dead end even too, sounds like a winner.
Soon the carp will be running the rivers spawning, get your bow setup for bowfishing soon. It can be done from the shore or in a small boat, day or night. Some of you along the Mo. River watershed could even get a shot at a jumping carp

Jill the land is yours do what you want with. You just can't cut tree down or make changes to the land. We are going to build a camp on it but it has to be mobile. We will plant clover food plots all over it and such. If anyone is on your property you have every right to tell them to leave and have the right to press charges for recreational tresspassing.
YIPPY we aint had time to scout every nook and cranny yet for falls or anything. We just got a quick brush through the other day. It is definately a winner and will be the home of our new camp.
Our greatest glory is not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall.
