around here a few of people who drive 04-07 f150's with the 5.4 have been having problems with the cam phasers and lift adjusters, i used to laugh but today i noticed my truck is starting to tick the same way thiers did, and i'm just currious if any of you have had or heard of this problem and how wide-spread it actually is. but maybe all the guys who give me hell were right, the problem is circled on the front of my truck.

Yes, on the 5.4's, they have had problems with the cam phasers. They have also had problems with the spark plugs blowing right out of the tubes, takeing the threads right with them. In most cases, you have to lift the body off the truck to take care of the problem, not an easy/cheap thing to do. I've done 2 in the last year at my shop.

Time to fill the freezer....

i've heard of the sparkplug problems, but this whole cam phaser thing is new to me, its still under warranty, and my truck is slowly starting to sound more and more like a diesel, but ford wont do anything to it basically until it wont move.
