Handicapped Accessible Blinds Constructed at Two Wildlife Areas
Disabled and youth hunters offered duck blinds at Spring Valley & Clark Lake

XENIA, OH – The Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Wildlife and the Ohio Waterfowl Association (OWA) have partnered in the building of two handicapped accessible waterfowl hunting blinds.

This is the second year for the staff of Spring Valley Wildlife area and the OWA to partner on building blinds to allow easy access for disabled and youth hunters. In 2008 a blind was constructed on Clark Lake Wildlife area and in July of 2009 a blind was added to the Spring Valley Wildlife area.

The OWA promotes Ohio's waterfowling heritage through education, example and advocacy for all waterfowl enthusiasts in order to conserve waterfowl resources and ensure its enjoyment by future generations. To learn more about OWA visit their website at http://ohiowaterfowl.org/ .

Interested hunters must contact the Spring Valley Wildlife area to make arrangements to use the two blinds.  Spring Valley can be contacted at (937) 488-3115.  Office hours are 8 am to 5 pm Mon. - Fri.

The dates and bag limits for the 2009 fall waterfowl hunting season can be found at http://www.dnr.state.oh.us/Portals/9/pdf/pub295.pdf or by calling 1-800-WILDLIFE.

now that is very commendable, at least someone is thinking about disabled and handicap being able to persue the sports they love.
