I have 2 chocolate lab's and the newest 1 has worm's we have been treating him with worm med's for the last 4 month's but to no avail seems he keeps getting them back or the med's arent working like there suppose to. My question to you all is if you have dog's and they have had worm's what do you use? My older lab does'nt seem to have them but we have been treating him too just for the sake we don't want him getting them from the pup.

there is an over the counter product out that takes care of everything. I have been able to find it in most good pet stores, catalogs, and feed stores. It is called Safeguard. Most places around here, a box for a lab goes for between 12- 20 bucks. It is given by weight for three consecutive days in a small amount of food before one of their meals (to be sure they eat all of it). Unlike many wormers, it won't give them the runs. This is one of the best drugs on the market for use in dogs, and like I said, even if they have whipworms(the worst out there for dogs) if given for 3 days, it will clear them out. Yes, heartguard is great for most worms, but it doesn't touch whipworms, and a few others. The active drug in heartguard is not in a high enough concentration to kill everything everytime - for many reasons. I could get into it, but I think I've taken up enough space with this one.
