last spring I bought a dozen of them (first time using them) was target shooting and got a perfect tube robin hood with them. Tonight I was showing my neighbor the robin hood and he pointed out that on the shaft it says (in real small and almost invisible with black lettering against dark green background)  "caution flex first read safety info at http://www.goldtip.com" so curiosity peaked I went to the website and guess what ITS UNDER CONSTRUCTION COME BACK LATER. so my question is this whats the point in flexing them before use is it only on the new ones? or do you have to do it periodically? and what is the point in this? can anyone help me with this?

ok so I did a google search and came up with a page that said that by flexing them before each shot it helps so you wont shoot one that was damaged causing bodily injury is this really necessary if you target shoot with some and hunt with another set?

there is a pic. around here of a carbon arrow that exploded into someones forearm while shooting it.  We all shoot arrows that @ some point or another either hit another arrow, or something that is not necessarily made to be shot at, target backdrop, a wooden picket fence in my particular case, or just plain shoot them so much that the spine deteriorates, by flexing them you can MOST OF THE TIME tell if the arrow is cracked or damaged, if you ever flex them and they make ANY NOISE, DO NOT SHOOT THEM!!!!  THIS GOES FOR ANY CARBON ARROW, NOT JUST GOLD TIP
