So, after the two crappy rainin, and windy as hell days we had, I got out in the woods about 3:30, and hunted until almost dark. This was one of my best small game days EVER. I believe I have gotten 4 once before, but also had been out longer, but got some 13 lined chipmunks too. I did however miss #5 yesterday. He was climbing thru a tree, about 100 yards out, at a good pace. I shot, he ran faster, stopped, etc. then I shot again, and missed AGAIN. That would have been nice

Squirrels always do drive people crazy when they are deer huntin, it seems like. I deer hunt where I squirrel hunt. I think it actually benefits me. I always see the deer in the late evening, especially if I stay out in the woods longer than I am supposed to be hunting. I don't hunt later, I pack up the rifle, and stuff 1st, but stay out to investigate where they come in at. I also think they get used to my scent, and don't feel as threatened. They usually come within 10 or 20 yards of me, before they figure out what I am. It seems like a game after a couple months. The big boys will not be with them though. The biggest I have seen using this method is a 6 point. But I'm not real picky about points anyways.
